Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about
breast enlargement:
Does having implants mean limits to any activities?
No, but first it must be remembered that in some activities, a woman may be at some disadvantage due to larger, heavier breasts. Every type of sport and physical activity is currently being done by women who have breast implants, including skiing, sky-diving, riding, swimming, running, race-car driving, water-skiing, lifting, tennis, golf, gymnastics, skating, boxing, wrestling, and diving; the implants do not prevent such physical exertion, and they are not likely to break during forceful impacts. Of course as the years and decades go by, the implants do wear and get less strong, so the amount of force needed to break one can be expected to decrease over time. If an impact is strong enough to break an implant, it might well have broken a rib or worse if there had been no implant there to provide a protective buffer. The operation to replace a broken implant is far more minor than one needed to treat say a punctured lung. As one woman said, "it's like having your own little airbags with you all the time."
What must be avoided is anything sharp penetrating the breast implant. Should a situation arise where it was necessary to stick a needle into the breast (for example removal of a skin mole or biopsy) it should be done by a Plastic Surgeon, or under x-ray guidance. Also to be avoided are focused, localized heat that might burn the breast skin, such as hot-water bottles or heating pads directly on the breast. But there is no problem with hot baths, saunas, hot-tubs, jacuzzi's, sun-bathing, or tanning.
