A "breast compression clamp" is a small plastic device with two well-padded plastic arms hinged together at one end. It was invented by a woman (Valerie Reid) who herself had experienced some Capsular Contracture ie scar-tissue hardening around her implants. Her Plastic Surgeon correctly explained to her that the best type of massage to soften her breasts was forcefully squeezing the breast from a round shape to an indented shape.
She found that this compression massage did indeed help her have softer breasts, and that it was more effective if she did it for longer times. But she had only so many minutes per day she could devote to squeezing her breasts. She was then clever enough to realize that a clamp could do the squeezing, yet leave her hands free. Thus was born the "Sta-sof breast compression clamp". This clamp is available by prescription through Plastic Surgeons.
Typically, the patient will apply the clamp in the morning and leave it in place for 15-20 minutes while doing other things, and then apply it again at night for the same interval. I have a few patients who continue to use these clamps as a preventive after being operated on for hardening.
