Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about
breast enlargement:

Are there drawbacks to larger sized implants?

Yes. As the size of the implant chosen increases, ALL of the following characteristics increase: weight, thinning of the tissues, rate of sagging over time, possibility of seeing rippling, veins showing. It is extremely important to understand that there is no cut-off point, in other words no point at which these problems start, or below which they are not there. Please refer to the following graph that illustrates this.

Graph showing effects of volume 17k JPG

Please note that this graph assumes that every implant is filled to its optimal volume.

As this graph shows, there is no point at which you can say these characteristics will or will not be a problem. Every additional ounce of volume slightly increases all of the characteristics, and every ounce decrease slightly lowers these characteristics. There is no such thing as a magic volume where these drawbacks disappear.

Here are some questions that have no answers:
-How large can I go without rippling showing?
-What is the biggest size that won't cause too much sagging for me?
-How big an implant can I get that won't thin out my tissues too much?
-If I want to avoid sagging, what size should I get?
-I don't want my breasts to feel too heavy, how large can I go?
These questions have no answers.

However, on the plus side, as the size of the implant chosen increases, so too does the amount of initial lifting of the breast increase. And more importantly, since these characteristics are present to some degree at every level of size, the smartest decision for the woman is to go for the size she really wants, and not sacrifice the desired size in an attempt to eliminate these characteristics.
