What are the advantages of putting the implants in
through the navel?
My own personal experience in doing over 1200 of these procedures since 1992 has confirmed the same advantages as were published in the main Plastic Surgery journal many years ago. The through-the-navel in-front-of-the-muscle method has these advantages:
- no tell-tale scars on or around the breasts
- shorter time under anesthesia
- implant puts no tension on the incision
- no cutting of the breast skin or breast tissues
- less chance of injury to the implants from instruments, needles
- least painful recovery of any method of breast implants
- more rapid recovery and return to normal activities
- chance of complications slightly lower
- less interference with nipple sensitivity
For implants through-the-navel behind-the-muscle, the first five listed above apply as well.
