breast enlargement through-the-navel ( TUBA ):
I have an umbilical hernia, can I still have the TUBA method done?
Definitely yes. Not only that, but that is an excellent opportunity for me to repair the umbilical hernia, which I have done on a number of occasions. (My previous general surgery training and certification come in very useful at times! But if the hernia were large or complex, then I would prefer to refer the patient to another surgeon.) Repairing small umbilical hernias has added only about ten minutes to the TUBA surgery, but it does, understandably, increase the postoperative pain level. Despite that, it seems to be an ideal time to do the repair.
