Can other operations be done at the same time as the breast augmentation?
Yes, and that is quite often done. The procedures that have been combined most frequently include the following:
Of course several of these can be combined together, but the plastic surgeon will need to determine which ones can be safely combined for a given patient. Doing more than one procedure together does lengthen the operating room time, although less than the total for the procedures done separately, and so there is often some cost savings. This must be weighed against the sometimes longer recovery.
If the implants are put in via the navel, then that combines particularly well with abdominoplasty, liposuction, or umbilical hernia repair.
