Is it true that replacement surgery is fairly
minor even through the navel?
Yes, mainly because only saline implants are inserted through the navel, and removal and replacement of saline implants is much easier than silicone gel implants. The major part of the original enlargement operation is the formation of a pocket for the implant where there was no pocket before. But if a saline implant deflates, the pocket is already there, so all that is needed is to slip the old implant out of the pocket, and slide the new one in. Usually the same incision site is used, including the navel.
