Can any woman have her breast augmentation done through the navel?
First, who are candidates for breast augmentation to begin with? Women who never developed to the size they desired in the first place, and women who at one time had more breast tissue, but then lost size through weight loss or pregnancy. Most women do not seek very large implants, but rather just enough to slightly increase the size to better fit into available clothing styles. Although the women who get the most publicity are those in show business and related entertainment fields, most women seeking augmentation are representative of the cross-section of women: householders, executives, teachers, mothers, secretaries, police officers, nurses, lawyers, flight attendants, doctors, librarians, salespersons, etc.
Second, among good candidates for augmentation, who can have it via the navel? Almost every woman, but not all. Some women have a breast shape that would give a better result if the implant is inserted a different way, and I evaluate each patient individually. An example would be someone whose breast skin requires extensive re-shaping. Also it may not be suitable for the woman who already has extensive scarring or other problems from previous breast or abdominal surgery.
