Note that these Spectrum implants have the capability of having their volume adjusted in the months after operation, in the office, without surgery, and are often used for that purpose in special situations. When used that way, there is a second operation required later to convert them to regular implants by removing the tube and port. But more often, they are used as regular implants, by removing the tube at the time of the first operation. These directions pertain only to the use of this style implant as an adjustable device.
